My daughter married our turkish waiter
WHEN 15-year-old virgin Hayley Peace had a fling with a Turkish waiter her family assumed it was a harmless holiday romance.
But within a year she went from innocent schoolgirl to teenage mum – and her mother Joanne has supported her all the way.
Hayley bedded Eren Tekine, 17, after Joanne paid for her to go to Turkey on her own to meet the man she had only got to know on a two-week family holiday.
Mum-of three Joanne even packed her suitcase with condoms and lied to her school, telling them she had tonsillitis while Hayley flew into the arms of her lover.
Joanne, 42, even paid for six more trips to Turkey.
She admitted many would be appalled by her actions but is convinced she did the right thing.
Joanne and hubby Andy, 43, were warned by child welfare chiefs they could be prosecuted for letting Hayley have sex – even though it’s legal at 15 in Turkey.
Hospital worker Joanne said: “I know it wasn’t a great thing to do and I was worried sick all the time she was out there.
“But what could I do – handcuff her to the desk?”
Officials never carried out their threat and Hayley left school soon afterwards.
Terrified
Meanwhile Joanne was snubbed by her shocked sisters, became the target of gossips in Mansfield, Notts, and fell out with a close pal who branded her a bad mum.
But Joanne – who has two sons Ricky, 23, and Callum, 21 – said strong-willed Hayley fell so deeply in love she could not have stopped her going to Turkey.
She said: “I was terrified I’d never see her again.”
Hayley got pregnant at 16, a year after meeting Eren on holiday in Marmaris in 2008.
Recalling their first meeting, she said: “When he stood next to me I felt myself tingle.
“He was gorgeous and I’d use any excuse to hang round the hotel to chat to him.”
Within days the pair shared their first kiss and on the last night she nearly had sex with him.
But Hayley said: “I didn’t want to lose my virginity to him like that so I stopped it.
“Eren told me that was why he liked me – because I was different to all the girls who go out to Turkey wanting to sleep with men.”
Heartbroken Hayley sobbed all through the flight home.
But if Joanne thought the fling would end when the plane landed in Manchester she was wrong – the lovesick teen was besotted.
Joanne said: “Before the holiday Hayley used to be a bit of a chav, hanging out on street corners getting p***ed with her mates.
“Then suddenly she was spending all her time moping about at home calling and emailing him. She begged me constantly to let her see him and the answer was always no.
“But the more I said no the more determined she became.
“She stopped eating, sat in her room crying and screamed she would die if she didn’t see him.”
Factory worker Andy and Joanne finally caved and Hayley went to stay with Eren at his aunt’s flat.
Joanne said: “I knew she was a virgin but I also knew she was likely to sleep with him.”
So the mum paid for Hayley’s flight, arranged for her to go on the Pill and even gave her a supply of condoms.
Joanne said: “I didn’t sleep the whole week she was gone.”
Hayley lost her virginity within two days. She said: “Eren wasn’t like English lads – he made me feel like a goddess.”
Back home, Hayley left school after the child welfare run-in and spent the days phoning Eren and dreaming of their next reunion.
She said: “He was like a virus that had got into my blood.”
Despite being on the Pill, Hayley got pregnant in 2009 on her seventh solo trip to Turkey.
Her parents were supportive – but other relatives were furious.
Joanne said: “My two sisters reckoned I should never have let her go there on her own, people whispered it was disgusting behind my back and a friend accused me of being a bad mum.” Joanne, who’s since made peace with her sisters, helped Eren apply for a UK visa.
But immigration chiefs rejected the plea in April last year.
A month later, Hayley gave birth to 8lb 7oz Riley Muhammed.
Eren didn’t meet his son till the family flew to Marmaris two months later – and in August 2010 he married Hayley.
But they’ve only seen each other four times since because Eren is doing a compulsory 15-month stint in Turkey’s army while reapplying for a British visa.
Joanne said: “Eren’s a decent bloke who loves my daughter.
“I know Turkish men have a bit of a reputation as love rats but 30 per cent are good ’uns, though the rest are b****rs. My Hayley was lucky and got a good one.”
